Euro Auto Festival 2011 – Another great show!

Eurofest continues to be one of the south’s best car shows. The reasons for the success are a great organization of volunteers led this year by Barry Harms, gracious sponsors that are willing to help, a wonderful collection of passionate car owners, a charity that has a solid reputation of helping those in need and spectators who come from all over the US to see the show. The friendliness of owners, the quality of cars and the diversity of European marques is truly impressive.

BMW has hosted the Eurofest events for many years and continues to support the charity effort. The beneficiary is the Upstate Red Cross Disaster Relief and ultimately, those in need. BMW allowed the use of the Performance Center to house the arrive n Drive events where a donation of $30 allowed people to drive new model BMWs in select events on the test tracks. Paul Mazzacane from the BMW Performance Center coordinated efforts of workers from  SCCA, NASA, Clemson Sports Car Club and other clubs and all tickets were sold out by the end of the day.

This years marques were the MG Midget / Austin Healey Sprite and the Jaguar XKE. If you were there, you saw some excellent examples. If you weren’t there, you need to add this event to your calendar for 2012. Thanks for a great show and we look forward to 2012!
